1975 – David Bowie is tonight’s guest star on the TV show Cher. He and Cher perform a medley of “Young Americans,” “Song Sung Blue,” “One,” “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “Wedding Bell Blues,” “Maybe,” “Day Tripper,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and “Youngblood.” Now that’s a showstopper.
1975 – Cher files for divorce from Gregg Allman a mere 10 days after they were married. However, the couple later reconsider and a year from today she gives birth to Allman’s child Elijah.
1974 – Gregg Allman marries Cher four days after her divorce from Sonny Bono. After nine days, Cher announces she wants another divorce. They separate and divorce about 3 1/2 years later.

1965 – The Rolling Stones appear on British TV’s Ready Steady Go! Mick Jagger and Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham perform a skit in which they duet on Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe.”
1965 – No. 1 Chart Toppers Pop Hit: “I Got You Babe,” Sonny & Cher. The song, which sells more than 1 million copies, is the duo’s only No. 1 hit. A remake of the song by UB40 with Chrissie Hynde hits No. 28 in September 1985.
