2004 – Beck calls off a competition to win his pet rabbit Rocket, blaming “technicalities.” “It’s better not to take chances and just give Rocket up to an appropriate and certified rescue organisation,” he writes on his Web site.
2003 – Beck, Beth Orton and Rilo Kiley play at a Los Angeles memorial concert for Elliott Smith, the singer/songwriter who committed suicide earlier in the year.
2003 – Beck is prevented from performing at the Field Day Festival in East Rutherford, N.J., as he recovers from a rib injury. According to the artist’s official Web site, Beck was watching Blur’s performance from the side of the stage when he was accidentally slammed in the ribs by a local working stage hand.
