2005 – Victor Edward Willis, better known as the original cop with The Village People, is arrested in California for after police allegedly find a gun and drugs in his car.
2005 – Mexican pop star Juan Gabriel is arrested in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua for alleged income tax evasion. The 55-year-old crooner of such popular songs as “Hasta que te Conoci” and “Querida” is nabbed by federal authorities upon arrival at the Ciudad Juarez airport.
2005 – Kid Rock is arrested in Nashville on charges that he punched a DJ at a nightclub. Rock was in town to attend the funeral of country songwriter Merle Kilgore (“Ring of Fire”).
2005 – D’Angelo, the R&B singer who only makes an album every five years, is arrested for drunk driving and drug possession outside of Richmond, Va. Make that “an album every 10-20 years.”
2004 – Lindsay Lohan’s dad is arrested for DUI and criminal contempt after he tries to get into his ex-wife’s New York estate. Dina Lohan took out an order of protection after Michael Lohan allegedly made violent threats against her.
2004 – Incubus singer Brandon Boyd is arrested at Laguardia Airport after screeners find a knife in his carry-on bag. “”I totally forgot it was at the bottom of my bag, and when the security person pulled it out, I thought, ‘Oh, no,’” says Boyd.
2004 – Phil Spector is arrested on This Day in Rock! Arguing over their business relationship, Phil and his chauffeur got into a slight knock down which ended in both trying to make a citizen’s arrest to the other.
2004 – An L.A. police officer testifies that Courtney Love appeared intoxicated and told him she had taken “hillbilly heroin,” or Oxycontin, the night she was arrested for drugs possession. The ex-Hole singer denies the charges.
2004 – David Crosby is arrested for leaving a bag of Marijuana, a knife and a loaded .45 gun in a hotel room in New York. The bail is set to $3500 for his release.
2003 – The Who’s Pete Townshend tells a London newspaper he contemplated suicide after police arrested him for accessing a kiddie porn Web site. Charges were later dropped.
2003 – A warrant is issued for Michael Jackson’s arrest on suspicion of molesting a 12-year-old Los Angeles boy.
2003 – Charges of child endangerment and trespassing are dismissed against Phish bassist Mike Gordon, a spokesperson for the Nassau County (N.Y.) District Court says. Gordon was arrested Aug. 11 after he was found with a nine-year-old girl in a private boathouse backstage at Jones Beach’s Tommy Hilfiger Theater.
