2012 – MTV’s new “Unplugged” season airs this night with “Florence + the Machine” on This Day in Rock Music History!

Recorded in December at the oldest synagogue in NY, Florence said that her voice sounded “amazing!” Welch performed her hits “Drumming Song”, “Ceremonials” and “Never let me go” with the help of “The Voices of Rivers,” a well known choir. Josh Homme from “Queens of the Stone Age” even joined Welch on the song “Jackson.”

“It was so amazing performing the songs stripped back and just really being able to concentrate on the songs and the emotions,” said Welch.
