2010 – Consol Energy Center doors open late for McCartney concert

The doors at Consol Energy Center opened at 6:40 p.m., 40 minutes later than scheduled, for this evening’s Paul McCartney concert.

McCartney’s plane to Pittsburgh was delayed, arena officials said. They did not give a reason. McCartney arrived at the arena at 5:25 p.m.

A public announcement earlier this evening told dozens of people outside the $321 million arena that McCartney had to do a sound-check before fans could be permitted to enter.

McCartney’s show is to be the first performance at the arena. He is scheduled to play a second show tomorrow.
