2009 – Ozzy Osbourne sued Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi for lack of royalty payments on This Day in Rock Music History! Tony was falsely claiming the right to sole ownership of the band’s name which cost Ozzy royalties from merchandise sold with the band’s name. Ozzy sought a declaration of the 4 original members and the subsequent loss of royalties because of the Tony’s claim. Tony claimed the other members relinquished rights in the 1980’s when the band split.
