2004 – Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney each score two wins at the CMT Flame Worthy Video Music Awards, held at Nashville’s Gaylord Entertainment Center. Keith’s clip for American Soldier earns him the evening’s top prize, video of the year. The Keith/Willie Nelson collaboration “Beer for My Horses” also earns two awards. One goes to the artists in the collaborative video of the year category. The other goes to video director of the year Michael Salomon. Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” earns him the male video of the year award, while his “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” wins the hottest video of the year award, given to the fan-voted “sexiest” clip.
