2004 – Veteran Bo Diddley, he of the square guitar and many songs bearing his name in the title, postpones a California concert as he recuperates from having his toe amputated. Diddley was treated for a hypoglycemic condition common to diabetes sufferers.
2004 – Gavin Rossdale, singer with Bush and Gwen Stefani’s husband, admits he is the father of a 15-year-old aspiring model named Daisy. Daisy’s mother is Pearl Lowe, formerly of Britpop band Powder and longterm girlfriend of Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey.

2004 – Courtney Love pleads guilty to disorderly conduct in New York. She had been accused of assault after she threw a mike stand into the audience during a March show, injuring one concertgoer. “I just wanted it to be over,” Love says of her decision.
